WINDMILL PUMP SEALS ( LEATHERS )
Iron Man Windmill pump seals - also know as Pump Leather's, Pump Buckets and Pump Cups are a speciality of Iron Man WIndmill Co. The seals below are accurately molded to exact dimensions from a propritary Poly Urethane compound developed by Iron Man Windmill Co. and is the result of extensive testing. Anti-friction additives are used to reduce friction, reduce the loading on the pump, pump-rod and gearbox. When windmill pump seals rise, the force of the seal against the cylinder wall causes the bottom OD to expand, increasing friction, loading and wear. Iron Man pump seals have a slightly reduced diameter at the base of the OD as can be seen in the illistration below. This reduction reduces the force required for operation. The result is reduced wear and tear on the windmill and components, operation in lighter winds, and faster operation in stronger winds, providing more water and all-around better performance.
